Stephen Chidwick raised on the button, then called when small blind Nicola D'Anselmo moved all in for 205,000.
Nicola D'Anselmo: A♥8♥
Stephen Chidwick: A♦2♦
Chidwick was dominated heading to the 4♦10♥6♣ flop. The 3♦ fell on the turn, while the 5♣ river improved him to a straight and sent D'Anselmo looking for the payout desk.
Petr Svoboda defended his big blind against an open raise by Davidi Kitai and checked the 8♥7♥7♠ flop. Kitai continued for 30,000 only to then face a check-raise to 115,000 by Svoboda. Within just a few seconds, Kitai moved forward a stack of T-25,000 chips and Svoboda called all-in for around 375,000.
Petr Svoboda: 10♣7♣
Davidi Kitai: A♥9♥
The 6♥ turn instantly improved Kitai to the nut flush and the 9♣ river was of no help anymore to the local poker pro.
Moments later, Aliaksandr Shylko was all-in with a short stack and tabled the A♦5♦. Salih Atac was ahead with J♠J♦ but the 10♠10♦3♠A♠10♣ runout gave Shylko a superior full house.
Florin Bilan was already all in from early position when the K♦7♥3♦ flop was dealt. Both Timo Kamphues in the small blind and Jacob Amsellem in the big blind, who had each called the all-in to create a 425,000 pot, then checked and the 7♣ turn was dealt.
Kamphues then made a bet of 110,000 and Amsellem quickly escaped the pot by mucking his hand.
Florin Bilan: A♥10♠
Timo Kamphues: K♥Q♣
Bilan needed to hit an ace on the river, but failed to do so when the 2♥ was put on the felt instead. He took his leave as Kamphues passed Amsellem in the counts.
Bruno Desimini only had 150,000 or so chips remaining when he checked from the big blind on the completed board of K♦3♠Q♥A♣7♥. Alexander Tkatschew was on the button and put Desimoni all-in, and the latter quickly called.
Tkatschew showed 7♠7♦ for a rivered set and Desimoni's cards were only briefly flashed before they hit the muck and he took his leave.
Alf Martinsson raised from the hijack and was called by Michael Armstrong on the button, Alexander Tkatschew also came along in the big blnd as well. The Q♣3♥3♠ flop was checked to Armstrong, who continued for 55,000. Tkatschew got out of the way but Martinsson called.
That led the duo to the 5♥ turn on which Martinsson check-called for another 90,000. The 10♠ river was checked by the Swede once more and Armstrong pushed all-in. No count was asked upon as Martinsson snap-called.
Already knowing his fate, Armstrong flipped over the K♦J♦ for a king-high bluff and Martinsson dealt the final blow with the A♠A♣.
"It was fun," the Canadian said on his way out of the tournament area.
The first casualty after the dinner break was Dutchman David Boyaciyan and moments later, another all-in showdown unfolded.
Zdenek Zizka raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Viktor Blom three-bet to 125,000 in the cutoff. The four-bet shove by Zizka followed and Blom inquired about the stack size, which he guessed at 395,000.
That was confirmed by the dealer and Blom then called for slightly more than half of his remaining stack.
Zdenek Zizka: K♣K♥
Viktor Blom: A♠Q♣
The A♣5♠4♦ flop instantly improved Blom and there was no escaping for Zizka on the 5♣ turn or 3♠ river.
Pavel Binar moved all in for 165,000 on the button and Michele Tocci called in the big blind.
Pavel Binar: Q♣9♦
Michele Tocci: K♣10♣
The flop came 5♣4♥2♣ and Tocci took an even bigger lead with a flush draw. The 3♥ turn was no help to Binar and he was a card away from elimination, but he hit the Q♦ on the river as Tocci flung his arms in the air in frustration before handing over the pot.
At the same time at another table, Wing Po Liu was already all in with a short stack as Leon Sturm and Serkan Kuru went to the river on a board of J♦10♥J♠7♠J♣, with 85,000 in the main pot and 125,000 in the side pot.
Sturm then bet another 85,000 from the big blind and Kuru gave it some thought before mucking on the button. Sturm then turned over K♣10♣ for a full house and Po's cards hit the muck as the recent bracelet winner was busted shortly before dinner break.
Marius Gicovanu made it 33,000 to go in the cutoff and Fabian Gumz pushed all-in for 219,000 on the button. The initial raiser asked for a count and then made the call, which triggered the following coin flip.
Fabian Gumz: 4♠4♦
Marius Gicovanu: K♦Q♣
Gumz remained ahead on the A♣9♠6♥ flop and A♥ turn, but Gicovanu picked up counterfeit outs. Instead, the Q♠ fell on the river to give the Romanian superior two pair and send Gumz to the payout desk a few minutes prior to the dinner break.
Keneshka Kabir had open-raised preflop from early position and Axel Hallay made the call from the button. Vito Vella also came along from the big blind and the three saw a flop of 2♦6♠9♠.
Vella checked to Kabir, who made a bet of 75,000. Hallay called, while Vella got out of the way. On the 7♥ turn, Kabir slowed down and checked, prompting Hallay to bet 125,000 himself. Now it was Kabir who made the call, and the K♣ river completed the board.
Kabir checked once more before Hallay over-bet jammed, covering the 720,000 chips that Kabir had behind. Kabir did not take long before flicking in a call and Hallay showed K♠7♠ for two pair.
Kabir had to show his 9♥8♥ for second pair, as is customary with all-in showdowns. The former chipleader left the tournament area, while Hallay crossed the three-million mark by adding Kabir's chips to his own.
