Jaros and Eljach Lead the Way in Day 2 of Event #6: €5,000 Pot Limit Omaha

The action continues here at the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe at King’s Resort in Rozvadov. The event attracted a total of 202 unique entrants to create a total prize pool of €911,525. Of those 202 entrants, 52 players survived to find a bag and advance to Day 2.

Patrik Jaros had a dominating performance during yesterday’s Day 1, finishing the evening with 1,399,000 chips worth 175 big blinds. Jaros is the only player to bag more than 1,000,000 chips, and is most closely followed by Omar Eljach, who comes in with 914,000 chips to start Day 2, worth 114 big blinds.

Eljach has had a stellar series at the WSOPE so far, having already won Event #2: €550 Pot Limit Omaha for €65,900 as well as making the final table of Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event, finishing fourth for €103,350.

Others to bag big for Day 2 include Diana Volcovschi (904,000) who finished runner up to Eljach in the €550 Pot Limit Omaha event for €40,700, as well as Michael Rodrigues (747,000), who finished seventh in the same event for €21,000.

Roland Israelashvili opened to 16,000 from the cutoff and Michael Rocco called in the small blind. Jonas Kronwitter three-bet to 64,000 from the big blind, folding out Israelashvili while Rocco made the call.

The flop came 542. Rocco checked, Kronwitter moved all in for 112,000 and Rocco called with a covering stack to put Kronwitter at risk.

Felipe Ramos, Shawn Stroke, and Stuart Rutter were in for 35,000 a piece headed to a flop, which came 344.

Ramos checked from early positon and Stroke bet 34,000 from the cutoff. Rutter called on the button and Ramos let his hand go.

Stroke continued for 55,000 on the 9 turn and Rutter again called.

The Q completed the board and Stroke put a third barrel worth 150,000 into the middle. Rutter went deep into the tank, but eventually put in a call.

"Good call," Stroke said, prompting Rutter to table AA62 for aces-up. Stroke re-checked his hole cards and sent them into the muck — conceding the pot to Rutter.

The flop came Q102. Eljach checked, Tsang bet 55,000, Gleissner called and Eljach folded.

Tsang checked the A turn and Gleissner bet 75,000. Tsang made the call.

On the 2 river Tsang lead out with a bet of 145,000, leaving about 90,000 behind. Gleissner moved all in with a covering stack and Tsang called.

Gleissner tabled AK96 for the highest possible flush while Tsang showed down QQ108 for queens full of deuces to secure a massive double up.

On a flop of 1032 with a sizable pot already brewing, Patrik Jaros check-called a 75,000 bet from the big blind against Gergo Nagy, who was under the gun.

Jaros made a pot-sized bet of 294,000 on the 9 turn and Nagy deliberated a bit before making the call.

Jaros went back to checking when the K completed the board and Nagy put his remaining 248,000 into the middle — sending Jaros deep into the tank.

After several minutes, Jaros put in calling chips and Nagy tabled AAQJ for Broadway. Jaros held 10975 for two pair and the massive pot was sent Nagy's way.
