Blom Gives Up to Birgaoanu on the River

Viktor Blom and Andrei Birgaoanu built a pot of around 50,000 as they went heads-up to the K♠5♥9♠ flop. Blom then bet 36,000 from the small blind and Birgaoanu called in the hijack.

Blom bet another 76,000 on the 4♠ turn and Birgaoanu again called. Blom slowed down and checked the Q♣ river, and Birgaoanu quickly checked back.

Blom showed A♥4♥, but Birgaoanu had K♦Q♦ for two pair to win the pot.

It didn't look great for Kovalchuk but his situation got slightly better on the flop of 3♦J♦J♣ as he picked up a flush draw. A 5♥ on the turn was red, but not the right suit for Kovalchuk. Nonetheless, at his final attempt at survival, Kovalchuk found the 9♦ on the river and hit a flush to double up.

The Q♣ turn got checked through for the 3♥ to come on the river. Camardese bet out for 76,000 which sent Kuzmanovic into the tank. After over a minute, Kuzmanovic folded and surrendered the pot to Camardese.
