Both then checked to showdown on the 4♥6♥ runout where Gicovanu showed Q♠Q♦, but Thiemer had the winner with A♥10♦ for a pair of aces.

Zegal Spikes the River to Stun Peychev

With around 50,000 in the pot on a board of 8♠8♣6♦2♣, Stanislav Zegal bet 26,000 from the cutoff, Metodi Peychev raised to 52,000 in middle position, and Zegal called.

The river was the 9♥ and Peychev moved all in for around 40,000. Zegal couldn't call fast enough as he turned over 9♦9♠ for a rivered full house. Peychev showed A♦8♦ for trips as he got up from his seat.

"Nice river," he told Zegal, taking the horrific beat with a smile on his face before making his exit.

Baktasch Safi checked from middle position to David Dongwoo Ko on the button on a turn of 6♦5♦A♥2♣. Ko made a large bet of 45,000 into the pot of 51,000, which Safi called.

Safi checked again on the 8♥ river, this time facing an all-in bet from Ko. Safi's stack of 148,000 was covered but he folded his cards after 30 seconds had passed.

The action was caught on a river of 2♠K♦J♣10♦K♥. With 60,000 in the pot, Dawid Smolka decided to put his stack of 67,000 at risk from the cutoff after Gabriele Re had checked in the hijack.

Re mulled it over for a while before tossing in a single calling chip. Smolka stood up as he tabled 7♥7♣ for kings and sevens.

He was right to do so, as Re had called with Q♥Q♣ for kings and queens and welcomed Smolka's stack to his chips.

Ko Puts In Another Big Shove, Shows a Deuce

David Dongwoo Ko and Simon Buchta went to the river with a massive pot already in the middle and a board showing 10♠Q♥9♣J♥7♥.

"I three-bet to 13,500. Call, call, call. I bet a third on the flop, call. Ninety percent on the turn, call," Ko related.

"You have to tell the whole story," tablemate Quang Dinh said

"It's a true story," Hugues Girard added.

Buchta then bet 55,000 from the hijack and Ko moved all in from the cutoff. Buchta had around 140,000 remaining and tanked for several minutes. He eventually flashed the K♣ as he mucked. Ko then showed him the 2♥.

"It's good for PokerNews," Ko said before also showing the 4♥ for a flush.

Eljach Shoves on Herold, Lakerveld Has a Good Opening Level

The 2022 WSOP Europe Main event champion Omar Eljach was seen shoving the river against Kai Herold in a pot over on Table #136.

On a full board of 3♥2♠3♦A♥6♠, there were around 100,000 chips in the pot when Eljach overbet-shoved, which left Herold with a decision for his stack of around 170,000.

"You've been so lucky," said Herold to Eljach while he was thinking. Eventually, Herold let his hand go, and Eljach raked in the chips.

Despite winning that pot, Eljach is still down from his starting stack, but Daniel Lakerveld who is sat on the same table certainly isn't down as he has increased his 300,000 start-of-day stack to around 550,000 now.

Schuh and Zamani checked the 5♠ turn for the 2♣ to fall on the river. Schuch checked, and Zamani put out a bet of 6,500. Schuh seemed to contemplate all three options but ultimately settled on a fold.

Farid Jattin made a raise to 3,200 in the hijack. Amir Mozaffarian three-bet to 10,000 in the small blind and Jattin called. The flop fanned out [js7hc2c] and was checked through.

Mozaffarian checked again on the 7♦ turn, after which Jattin bet 7,700. Mozaffarian called to the 2♦ river, where he immediately check-called when Jattin piled in 12,200.

Jattin tabled 8♥8♣ for sevens and eights and took down the pot when Mozaffarian knuckled the table and mucked his cards.

At an adjacent table, Timur Margolin raised to 4,000 on his button. Wouter Beltz called in the small blind before Adrian State three-bet jammed for 24,400.

Margolin tanked for a bit and then put in a call, after which Beltz quickly folded.
