Gonneau Spikes the River

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The board showed {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, Martial Gonneau moved all in for around 10,000 into a pot that was approximately 5,500. His opponent quickly called for the remainder of his stack and turned over {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a flopped full house.

Gonneau tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for a higher full house on the river and enough to take down the pot, eliminating his opponent.

Blizniak Gets Paid With His Set

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The flop was showing {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Jonathan Reinhardt led for 2,000, Thomas Blizniak made the call from the big blind position and so did Mohamed Aissani from early position.

The turn came down the {j-Clubs}, Reinhardt moved all in for 4,800, Blizniak called and Aissani moved all in over the top for 6,425. Blizniak called and the players then turned over their hands.

Reinhardt tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for top pair, Aissani showed {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} for top pair with a lower kicker, and Blizniak turned over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a flopped set. Blizniak had his opponents drawing dead to the {8-Clubs} on the river and he took down the pot, eliminating both of his competitors.

John Esposito (picture from a previous event)

The under the gun player opened to 250 and it was called by four players, including John Esposito in the small blind.

The flop {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} brought action when the under the gun player continued for 750 after the blinds checked. The button called and Esposito raised it to 2,650. It folded to the under the gun who shoved all in and only Esposito made the call.

Holding {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, the under the gun player was dominated, facing {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} in Esposito's hand for the flush, and the {3-Clubs}{7-Spades} turn and river brought him no help.

Calamusa Tens Are Not Good

Niveau 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

After a first player raised, Pierre Calamusa three-bet to 950 from the cutoff. The action folded to the initial raiser who moved all in for his last 6,775 and Calamusa, after some thought, made the call to create the following showdown:

Pierre Calamusa: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
His opponent: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Calamusa was in bad shape to win the hand and the board {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} gave the double up to his opponent.
