Controversial Hand At Table 519

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Cole Ferraro
Cole Ferraro

Action picked up on the turn. Table mates recapped that the preflop action was Rafaelle Sorrentino raising to 1,000 preflop, Cole Ferraro and Michael Coombs calling from the cutoff and button. The big blind responded with three-betting to 7,200, which all the players called and the flop was seen four ways.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} and the action checked through to the {10-Diamonds} turn where Sorrentino bet 9,400 and Ferraro called. Coombs responded by going all-in with the covering stack and the big blind folded. Sorrentino went into tank for three minutes before calling for his stack and Ferraro snap-called behind.

Cole Ferraro: {j-Spades}{9-Spades}
Rafaelle Sorrentino: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Michael Coombs: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}

Coombs had both the players covered, but needed to improve to a full house on the river to win. Sorrentino was drawing to a nine for a straight and Ferraro had the best hand with a made jack-high straight. The river was the {9-Hearts} and Sorrentino improved to the same straight and chopped the pot with Ferraro.

However, after the hand was finished there was some confusion about how much the dealer had pulled into the pot and after about 3 minutes, the floor was called. Play was halted at the table for roughly ten minutes while the table checked the surveillance tapes and eventually the stacks were counted out correctly and play continued.

Wolak Eliminated by Chung

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Marsha Wolak's seat was recently discovered to be empty, and according to her former tablemates, it was quite a beat she took.

According to the table, Wolak held a pair of pocket aces versus her opponent Eugene Chung's ace-king suited.

She then led for 6,000 on the flop and was called, then bet 10,000 on the turn when three to a flush appeared on the board.

Chung called, then after Wolak bet another 10,000 on the river, Chung moved all-in for slightly more and Wolak called off to see that Chung held the winning flush.

Bart Lybaert

Bart Lybaert was in the big blind facing a raise to 1,200 and a call from two players in early position.

The Belgian star called to see a flop of {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, then led into his two opponents for 1,500. The original raiser called and the other player folded.

On the {7-Hearts} turn, Lybaert kept up the pressure with another bet of 5,000, and again was called.

On the {7-Spades} river, Lybaert kept firing, this time for 15,000, which finally elicited a fold from his opponent.
