Fin des préliminaires sur l'Event #67 WSOP 2021 Freezout à 10 000$ après la conclusion du Jour 2 CEF dans la nuit de mercredi à jeudi, au Rio de Las Vegas. La moitié des participants de la journée a franchi les 5 niveaux de 2 heures et un peu plus de 900 rescapés se sont ajoutés aux 1 440 survivants du Jour 2 ABD pour former un field d'un peu moins de 2400 joueurs au Day 3...
C'est l'heure de la réunification sur le Main Event qui a donc rassemblé 6 650 entrants pour un prizepool de 62 011 250$. Les 1 000 derniers joueurs en lice se partageront ces 62 millions, les premiers payés empocheront au moins 15 000$.
Le vainqueur empochera 8 millions de dollars! Le premier éliminé de la finale empochera lui aussi un gain à 7 chiffres et il faudra atteindre le Top 63 pour gagner une somme à 6 chiffres d'au moins 113 800$.

Arrivé in-extremis, le Français Guillaume Diaz n'est plus dans la course tout comme le champion 2019, Hossein Ensan ou les vainqueurs WSOP Erik Seidel, Brandon Adams, Shankar Pillai, David "ODB" Baker et Nathan Gable. Runner-up en 2018, Tony Miles a rendu les armes lui aussi mais ils sont donc nombreux à nourrir l'espoir d'une victoire fantastique.
Avec 744 000 jetons à la fin de la nuit, Conrad De Armas a pris les commandes du tournoi puisque Rameez Shahidn'avait emballé que 731,700 jetons lors du premier Jour 2. Adam Walton (673,100), le nonuple vainqueur WSOP Circuit Daniel Lowery (625,200), le regular Matt Glantz (580,000) et Artan Dedusha (577,100) ont aussi connu une journée faste.
Alors que ces joueurs rêvent d'un premier succès, c'est Chris Moneymaker qui a crevé l'écran lors du Jour 2CEF. Sept anciens champions étaient en lice sur ce day et l'Américain sponsorisé par ACR a bien fait de venir.
Originalement forfait pour cause de COVID-19, Chris Moneymaker a profité des inscriptions tardives pour tenter de lancer un deuxième boom du poker. Le joueur US s'est assis avec une trentaine de blindes et il n'a fait qu'aspirer en table TV. Un brelan, un craquage d'As, une premium qui tient contre Bryan Reyes... voilà la recette pour monter 531,600 jetons et terminer dans le Top 10 de la journée !

Vainqueur en 1998, Scotty Nguyen avait le plus petit tapis des anciens champions, il a connu le même sort qu'Ensan. Joe Hachem s'est lui offert un Jour 3 tout comme le patron de 2016, Qui Nguyen. Nguyen peut rêver d'un autre deep-run puisqu'il a terminé avec 479 100 alors que la partie reprendra sur 1200 - 2400 dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi...
Scott Blumstein (50,800) et Phil Hellmuth (254,000) ont aussi fait le boulot et poursuivent leur route tout comme de nombreux Français.

Un peu moins de 80 tricolores étaient en lice sur cette journée de poker et au moins la moitié a rejoint ElkY, Kool Shen et les 20 qualifiés du Jour 2ABD.
Finaliste WSOP, Axel Hallay mène l'armada avec 172 blindes et 412 900 jetons pour la reprise. 10 autres Français reviendront avec plus de 100 blindes parmi lesquels Johan Martinet, Benjamin Souriau, Julian Milliard, le vainqueur EPT Nicolas Dumont (306 900) ou le récent vainqueur WSOP Jean-Luc Adam (268 400) et le Parisien Yehoram Houri.
Christophe Benzimra et Moundir auront eux aussi un joli stack pour la reprise, tout comme Slimane Mamèche et les vainqueurs WSOP Ivan Deyra et Antoin Teisseire.
Les habitués José Astima, Fabien Motte, Pierre Merlin ont eux un bloc autour de 60 blindes et le temps de voir venir. Arnaud Mattern, Romain Lewis, Arthur Conan, Franck Kalfon, Selim Oulmekki sont moins fournis mais toujours dans le coup tout comme Rosalie Petit, Louis Linard, le vainqueur EPT Jean Montury ou Johan "YoH_Viral" Guilbert. Ce duo possède un peu moins que le stack de départ qui représentera encore plus de 20 blindes à l'entame du Jour 3!

Enfin, à quelques heures de son anniversaire, le plus Français des Italiens (et serial casher sur le Main Event puisqu'il a enregistré 4 places payées consécutives sur ce tournoi, ndlr), Giuseppe Zarbo a préservé ses chances de en emballant 52 200 jetons. Phil Hellmuth and Atanas Pavlov saw the river on a board of 
. Pavlov, from under the gun, bet enough to put Hellmuth all in for his last 25,000.
"Is this for real," Hellmuth said. He went into the tank for about four minutes as PokerGo cameras and a large crowd surrounded the table. Hellmuth eventually slid his cards back to the dealer.
"Show the bluff," tablemate Jacob Thibodeau said, but Pavlov calmly returned his cards face down and gathered the pot.

A three-way all-in occurred preflop between Corey Lieblein, another player, and Qui Nguyen who had both of the other players covered.

turn changed nothing. Lieblein was still pleading for the dealer to put out his needed three-outer, and the dealer put down the indeed to keep Lieblein alive and triple up.
"Yes! Yes!", Lieblein jumped out of his chair and shouted, along with some other words of his choosing.
Lieblein took the main pot, while Nguyen took the side pot which eliminated the other player and still appeared to give Nguyen a slight profit on the hand.
"You owe me dinner," Nguyen joked.
"Anytime," Lieblein happily responded.

A player in middle position opened to 4,000 and was called by the cutoff and Ted Forrest in the big blind.
Forrest led out for 4,000 on the 
flop and only the cutoff called.
The fell on the turn and Forrest bet again — this time for 6,000. His opponent again called.
Both players checked on the 
river and Forrest tabled 
for kings and sixes. It was good, as the cutoff mucked without showing — conceding the pot to Forrest.
