Après un dimanche à 2 550 entrants, la cinquième des des six journées de départ de l'Event #67 à 10 000$ l'entrée a été plus calme avec 797 participants supplémentaires. Alors que les frontières US sont désormais ouvertes aux Européens vaccinés, l'affluence provisoire du tournoi est montée à 5 315 entrants.
Après 5 niveaux de 2 heures, 592 joueurs ont emballé des jetons pour porter le total des survivants à 3 917 joueurs. Dernière chance la nuit prochaine... et jusqu'à la fin du deuxième niveau du Jour 2 soit en début d'après midi le 10 novembre lors du Jour 2cef...
3 participants sur 5 ont profité de la structure parfaite pour s'offrir une journée supplémentaire de poker au Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino de Las Vegas, lundi à l'occasion du Jour 1e. Parmi les rescapés de ce Jour 1D, au moins 20 tricolores emmenés par Sonny Franco et le Team Pro Winamax Romain Lewis.

Les deux Français ont notamment rejoint deux anciens vainqueurs du tournoi qui ont passé leur journée en table TV. Devant les caméras de PokerGo, l'Américain Scott Blumstein et l'Australien Joe Hachem ont franchi le premier obstacle.

Vainqueur en 2005, Joe Hachem n'est pas la seule tête d'affiche à avoir boucler un Jour 1 lui donnant de l'espoir. Les spécialistes des variantes Nathan Gamble et Dylan Linde ont passé quelques temps à la Table TV avant de valider leur ticket pour le Day 2 eux aussi.
Frank Funaro (104 000), Dietrich Fast (112 000), Shankar Pillai (113 400), Dan Colpoys (123 400), Max Greenwood (135 500), Jeremy Pekarek (135 700), Andre Akkari (139 500), Mark Gregorich (140 400), Balakrish Patur (150 800) et le Lituanien Simas Karaliunas (198 800) ont aussi idéalement lancé leur conquête.

Du côté des tricolores le champion WSOP Antonin Teisseire (135 000) a emballé un peu plus du double du tapis de départ de 60 000 jetons. Bien en place, Julian Milliard-Feral (119 000) et Yehoram Houri (108 500) ont aussi fait le boulot tout comme le vainqueur EPT Nicolas Dumont (104 500) à peine débarqué de l'avion en provenance de Paris !
Christophe Benzimra (97 000) et Tristan Forge (85 400) ont répondu présent tout comme le récent vainqueur WSOP Jean-Luc Adam (78 100). Ca passe aussi notamment pour Ivan Deyra, Julién Pérouse et Patrick Sacricspeyre... de quoi porter le contingent des Français qualifiés à une soixantaine de joueurs alors que la partie reprendra sur 400 - 800...

Blumstein a finalement emballé 95 000 jetons après avoir partagé une table avec Jacob Thibodeau et Matt Stout qui ont aussi franchi l'obstacle.
David Gerassia lui été aérien pour cette première journée, de quoi lui permettre de revenir avec près de 400 blindes pour la deuxième étape! Derrière, une armée américaine menée par Kenn Pluard (307,600) entend bien aller plus loin que sa 48e place sur le WSOP à 5000$ remporté par Alexandre Reard...
Scott Seiver reprendra lui avec moins de 30 blindes tout comme le Britannique Max Silver. Avec 40 blindes pour le Jour 2, Darren Elias, Laurie Tournier et Noah Bronstein auront aussi du travail à faire mais un peu plus de marge. Ce quintet a néanmoins validé son ticket pour la suite du tournoi tout comme Eli Elezra (30 000), Dan Ott (35 000), Aaron Massey (42 500) ou Paul Volpe (44 800).
Michael Noori, Griffin Benger, Broke Wilson, Tony Sinishtaj et Max Steinberg ont moins que le tapis de départ mais encore de la profondeur aussi. Hunichen went deep into the tank.

Hunichen eventually tossed in a call and he saw the bad news as De Armas tabled for a full house.

"Yea," said Hunichen.
