L'écrémage a été intense pour le clan français lors du Jour 5 de l'Event #67 WSOP 2021 Freezout à 10 000$.Sept des 9 joueurs du contingent tricolore ont rendu les armes alors qu'il ne reste plus que 96 survivants d'un field de 6 650 entrants!
Qualifié sur le King 5 de Winamax et en freeroll, Nicolas Vayssières a terminé la journée comme il l'avait commencée, avec un stack de 110 blindes environ. Le Français a fait preuve de réussite et de sang froid pour emballer 6,6 millions de jetons, il reviendra à bonne distance du chipleader allemand Koray Aldemir et de ses 14,3 millions de jetons (179 blindes) mais dans le bon paquet pour rêver d'encore mieux.
Le jeune homme s'est bien préparé et a avoué avoir contacté Antoine Saout, Romain Lewis ou David Kitai pour aller le plus loin possible. Le gros coup est à portée de main... même si Chèvre Miel ne joue qu'un jour l'un après l'autre avec l'ambition de passer seulement un jour de plus.

Ils étaient 292 à l'entame du Jour 5 au Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino et Koray Aldemir a donc pris les commandes après 5 niveaux de 120 minutes supplémentaires. L'Allemand a ensaché 14,3 millions de jetons et peut rêver de nouveau à un premier titre WSOP après une place de runner-up, deux podiums et trois finales !
Cet habitué des tournois high-rollers a terminé devant le patron du Jour 4, le joueur PokerStars Ramon Colillas et un habitué du haut du classement sur ce tournoi, le Canadien Jonathan Dwek. Comme Zachary Mcdiarmid (9,7 millions), ce Top 4 provisoire n'a jamais gagné aux WSOP!
Avec plus de 800 000 followers sur Twitter, le DJ argentin Alejandro "Papo MC" Lococo s'est lui fait un nom dans le poker à l'occasion de ce Jour 5 terminé dans le Top 10 provisoire.

Avec 7 millions de jetons, Chase Bianchi est juste devant Nicolas Vayssières au classement, comme le Tchèque Roman Hrabec (6,3 millions) il continue tranquillement son parcours. Le multiple vainqueur WSOP Chance Kornuth est lui aussi toujours dans le coup (5,9 millions) tout comme Dragana Lim (5,5 millions) et Demosthenes Kiriopoulos (4,9 millions) qui ont animé le début de tournoi.
En milieu de peloton, on retrouve Alex Goulder (4,1 millions) et le Turque propulsé par une rencontre carré contre carré, Ugur Secilmis (4 millions). Avec 3,7 millions à la reprise dimanche à 21 heures, heure française, Stephen Chidwick aura aussi de quoi jouer au poker et ambitionner de passer un jour de plus. L'Anglais a déjà gagné un 30-70 pour sa survie !
L'Irlandais Chris Dowling (3,3 millions), l'Américain Stephen Song (2,7 millions), John Morgan (2,6 millions), le double vainqueur WSOP Yuri Dzivielevski (2 millions) ou Asher Conniff (1,8 million) n'ont pas dit leur dernier mot non plus... Dernier du classement avec 3 blindes à la reprise, l'Allemand Niko Koop veut lui aussi toujours y croire même si cela sera plus compliqué !

Moins fournie en jetons que Dragana Lim, la Canadienne Fatima Nanji reviendra avec 935 000 jetons pour tenter d'aller accrocher le prix honorifique de Last Woman Standing et un nouveau champion va émerger puisque Chris Moneymaker et Qui Nguyen ont finalement rendu les armes.
Le champion 2003 a été scalpé, par Jesse Lonis qui est toujours dans les hauteurs du classement, lors d'une journée fatale à près de 200 joueurs. Jason Koon, Matt Berkey, Marle Spragg, Conrad Simpson, Ken Aldridge et Joey Weissman ne reviendront pas pour le level 26 et les blindes 40 000 - 80 000 (80 000) tout comme Arnaud Mattern.
Le vainqueur EPT a été un des 7 tricolore éliminé lors du Jour 5. Il a rendu les armes en fin de nuit, mis à mal par une rencontre avec les 
de Nicolas Dumont. Mattern a précédé le vainqueur WSOP Jean-Luc Adam dans le rail, sorti par Koray Aldemir après la pause dîner. Le jeune Julien Milliard a lui raté le Top 100 de peu pour son deuxième deep-run de suite sur le Main Event (il avait fini 334e en 2019, ndlr), éliminé en deux coups proche du Jour 6.

Toujours dans le haut du classement mais auteur d'un début de journée cauchemar, Clément van Driessche a engrangé de l'expérience tout comme Johan Martinet qui se souviendra longtemps de son call sur Justin Bonomo. Le chef de produit PMU Poker Pierre de Almeida n'aura profité qu'une main de son passage en table télévisée mais il s'est fait des souvenirs pour la vie en confirmant qu'il fait mieux que tenir les cartes. Enfin, le vainqueur WSOP Ivan Deyra a lui aussi vu son rêve de rédemption s'arrêter dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche... il aura d'autres occasions de se refaire.

Les rescaps sont assurés de 59 000$ et il faudra atteindre le Top 63 pour le gain à 6 chiffres d'un peu plus de 113 000$... mais tout le monde jouera pour passer une journée de plus où se positionner en vue de la finale et du gain à 7 chiffres. Le vainqueur repartira lui avec 8 millions de dollars et le titre de Champion du Monde !

Alejandro Lococo and Roman Valerstein were on the river. There were about 1,800,000 chips in the pot and the board showed

Lococo bet 1,335,000 and that sent Valerstein deep into the tank. He contemplated for several minutes, so much so that by the end of it, all of the other tables had already bagged their chips for the night. All of the television cameras and spectators were waiting on Valerstein to make a move. Eventually, he called.
Lococo showed him the 
for rivered quads which no possible hand could beat, and he took the sizable pot to add in his bag for tomorrow, where he will come back having had a restful sleep after his spectacular finish today.
