Nipun Java check-called a bet worth 2,500 on the 
flop and the 
turn was checked by Java and Eric Samuelson checked back. Java then bet the 
river for 6,000 and that secured the pot for Java without showdown, as Samuelson surrendered after brief consideration.
Anthony Desai raised the button and Thomas Abbas called in the small blind. Kevin Rand then three-bet to 3,200 in the big blind and Desai was the only caller. Rand continued for 3,000 on the 
flop and received a call to then repeat the same procedure on the 
turn for 7,100.
The 
fell on the river and Rand now bet 14,000. That sent Desai deep into the tank and he eventually folded to award the pot to Rand.
Marc Etienne McLaughlin raised to 700 under the gun and a player in middle position and the big blind called.
A flop 
was revealed and it was checked to the middle position player who bet 1,200. Only McLaughlin stayed in the pot and a on the turn was check-check.
The river fell the 
and McLaughlin bet for 2,000. His opponent didn't take long to muck his cards.
Main Event Champion Joe McKeehen recently departed the tournament area. According to Jonathan Avne, McKeehen and Avne got into a preflop raising war that ended with McKeehen shoving all-in with ace-king and getting snapped off by Avne, who held pocket aces.
A king came on the flop, but Avne's aces held up on the turn and river and he collected the rest of McKeehen's chips.
Louis Cheffy is still in the tournament, but will be battling uphill after being on the wrong end of the ultimate preflop cooler.
In late position, Cheffy flatted a raise from a player in early position, and was three-bet by Christian Steindel directly to his left.
The original raiser folded, and Cheffy came back with a four-bet to 13,000, which was followed by a five-bet all-in by Steindel for about 24,000. Cheffy called to see the bad news.
