Graydon Slips Early

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player opened in early position and was called by Michael Graydon in the hijack. Brian Battistone then squeezed to 2,500 from the big blind and both players called.

Everyone checked on the {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop and action checked to Graydon on the {4-Diamonds} turn. Graydon bet 2,300 and both players called.

Action checked down on the {k-Clubs} river and Battistone tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for a rivered pair of kings.

Graydon showed a lone {8-Clubs} and mucked his hand — conceding the pot to Battistone.

Graydon, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year, was bought into the Main Event by the poker community. You can read more about his story here.

Despite the early hit, Graydon still has plenty of chips relative to the blinds with 45,000.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and both players checked to see a {k-Hearts} on the river. It was checked again to Pauli who bet 3,500. His opponent tanked for some time and opted to call. Pauli showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and lost the pot as his opponent revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Schwartz Startled By Sneeze

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Noah Schwartz was discussing a hand with another player when he suddenly braced for cover as a loud noise startled him from behind.

The noise was a new dealer coming to the table who had let out an aggressive and dramatic sneeze over the shoulder of the one-time bracelet winner, who is sitting in the nine-seat.

Schwartz jokingly demanded a refund from the tournament and asked if anyone had a PCR test on hand before bumping elbows with the sneezing dealer in a gesture of goodwill.
