Noori Takes Down A Pot

Niveau 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Andre Akkari raised to 1,500 from the hijack and got called by Paul Dhaliwal on the button and Michael Noori in the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the action checked through to the {a-Spades} turn, where Michael Noori led out for 2,500 and got called by both players.

The river came down the {6-Spades} and action checked through with Noori commenting "I'm going broke on the flop," while turning over {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Akkari chuckled and showed his {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, showing the table that he had the best hand on the flop, but the turn gave Noori the best hand. Dhaliwal mucked his hand and Noori took the pot.

Fortini Takes a Small One From Volpe

Niveau 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Action was picked up on the river as the board read {7-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Hayden Fortini bet 2,000 into a pot of about 5,500.

Paul Volpe thought for about 20 seconds before releasing his cards and sending the modest pot over to Fortini, who has had a solid Day 1e so far.

Michael Lech

Michael Lech looked up the shove of a short stack and was ahead with {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} versus {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}. The board ran out {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and the full house on the board ensured the split pot. Apparently, the at-risk player came back from just 100 chips. However, the miracle comeback then ended the next hand when a dominated {a-Spades}{6-Spades} came up short versus {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Mahfoud Doubles Up in Hand That Lasts Into Break

Niveau 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

Ayman Mahfoud, who knocked out Daniel Negreanu in the second level earlier in the day, was himself all in just as players prepared to head on a 20-minute break.

Mahfoud was facing a 10,000 bet on a board of {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and moved all in for around 40,000. His opponent went into the tank, getting up on one knee on his chair and mumbling to himself for several minutes.

As several players who were leaving on break began to surround the table, Mahfoud's opponent called with {a-}{q-}, but Mahfoud had him beat with {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair.

The river came the {10-Hearts} and Mahfoud doubled up before leaving the room.
