"Fun Guy" Busts With Aces

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

"Way to bust the fun guy," another player at the table remarked as the pot was shipped over to Philippe Souki, who responded with a "Wait, I thought I was the fun guy?"

Souki had flopped a set with the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and knocked out his table neighbor holding the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} on a board of {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

The Brit had started the day with just 18,500 in chips and now added a zero to that in the final level of the night.

Flip Puts the Chips to Use

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Miguel Use was spotted with a three-bet to 15,000 and the initial raiser then four-bet to 55,000. Use jammed for 95,000 and was quickly called.

It was a classic flip with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for Use and the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} of his opponent. The board came {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades} and the queens held for Use.

The action kicked off with a raise to 4,500 by Stephen Chidwick in the cutoff and he was called by Kenneth Cleeton in the big blind. Cleeton checked the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop and Chidwick then continued for 3,000.

Cleeton check-raised to 8,500 and Chidwick mucked near instantly to surrender. By claiming the pot, Cleeton reached a six-figure stack.

Kempton Mixes it Up

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Isaac Kempton raised to 4,400 preflop and got one caller.

The flop came {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. He continued with a down sized bet of 3,000 which was called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}. He raised the scales with the next bet which was for 15,000 and that proved to be a level too high as his opponent relinquished the cards required to continue in the hand and Kempton acquired some new chips.

Simao Tanks For Ten Minutes

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The board read {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and there was a pot of about 55,000 in the middle. Joao Simao was in the big blind and was facing an all in shove from his opponent for her remaining 82,000.

He was already in the tank for a couple of minutes as he entered an even deeper tank. Several times it looked like he was about to make a decision, only to sit back and go into neutral again. He stared down his opponent who sat motionless. The players at the table stood around and seemed content to allow the tank.

Finally after a full ten minutes, as per the tournament clock, a player at the table called clock. The floor came over to administer the countdown and Simao finally folded with five seconds left on the countdown.
