Cruz Nearly Triples Up After Spiking Quads

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Francis Cruz raised it up from the hijack and the button just flat-called. The small blind ripped all in for just under 400,000 and Cruz re-shoved all in for 461,000. The button quickly called to put both players at risk.

Small Blind: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Francis Cruz: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Button: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Cruz flopped trip jacks to take a commanding lead. The {j-Clubs} on the turn sealed the deal and the {8-Diamonds} on the river finished it off. Cruz nearly tripled his stack while sending one player to the rail.

McGray Flops Quads, Knocks Out Wilson

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Andy Wilson got it in for around 250,000 and Marcel McGray was the lone caller.

Andy Wilson: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Marcel McGray: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and the flopped quads ended any hope for Wilson to stay in the tournament.

Jessica Cai: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Casey Coughlan: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Spades} and the aces held to knock Cai out of the tournament.

Huang Eliminated by Spragg

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Marle Spragg was in the big blind and faced the shove of He Huang. "How much is it?" Spragg inquired and Huang jokingly replied "around 2.8 million" while in reality it was for a few digits fewer.

Spragg then called and the cards were flipped over.

He Huang: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Marle Spragg: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Both players paired up on the {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} board and that spelled the end for Huang in 448th place.

Luo Uses Quads

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Chang Luo was seen collecting the rest of his fallen opponents' chips as his {10-}{10-} was showing on a board of {k-}{5-}{10-}{10-}{7-} for quads.

His opponent held the {k-}{q-} and could only stand up and walk to payouts, no match for the monster hand of Luo.

Pete Sewnig raised to 35,000 from middle position and was called by Pete Chen in the cutoff.

Thiessen's Boat Defeats Chen's Nut Flush

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

With a completed board of {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and about 200,000 in the pot, Lewe Thiessen bet 118,000 from early position. Pete Chen then raised to 350,000. Thiessen thought about his options and called.

Chen turned over the {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the nut flush, but that wasn't good enough as Thiessen showed {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a rivered boat.

"Perfect river," a player said to Thiessen.

Berland Holds to Eliminate Reilly

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Tim Reilly
Tim Reilly

Michael Berland and Tim Reilly were two of the short stacks at their table once the players returned from dinner break. It didn't take long for them to get their chips in the middle and it just happened to be against each other with Reilly being the player at risk.

Tim Reilly: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Michael Berland: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The flop came {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Berland celebrated with a fist pump after hitting a pair of nines. Reilly still had a flush draw but the {7-Clubs} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river were not the right shape for him as he was sent to the payout desk.
