"The March to Five Million"

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ben Lamb
Ben Lamb

Ben Lamb is on the move and showing no sign of slowing down. With the flop reading {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, the big blind checked to Lamb who bet 38,000. His opponent called and the {3-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

The action was checked to Lamb again and he bet 87,000. His opponent quickly made the call and Lamb said to him, "Think about it a little first."

The river brought the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked. The big blind tabled {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} but Lamb had a better kicker with {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

"This might be the march to five million," Lamb said to the table.

"You have to get there at some point," responded another player.

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

A player in the big blind bet 50,000 on a completed board of {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, and Nick Guagenti made it 100,000 to go in the hijack. The big blind responded by shoving all in, putting Guagenti to the test for his last 380,000. After a couple of minutes in the tank, Guagenti let it go.

Nick Maimone Sends One Home

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Nick Maimone
Nick Maimone

With about 100,000 chips already in the middle on a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}, Nick Maimone checked from the small blind, the player in the big blind shoved for 140,000, and Matthew Moss called from middle position. Maimone then check-raised to 400,000, and after brief consideration, Moss folded and the two remaining players tabled their hands.

Maimone: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Big blind: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Maimone had a sizeable advantage with his flopped set of threes but his opponent had outs with an open-ended straight draw. The {4-Clubs} on the turn gave Maimone a boat to leave his opponent drawing dead and the meaningless {J-Clubs} fell on the river to complete the board.

Jaffee Loses Some

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

With about 100,000 already in the pot and the board reading {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, Jared Jaffee was in the cutoff and heads up against the player under the gun. They both checked.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds}, they checked again, Jaffee's opponent tabled {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for a turned pair of jacks, and Jaffee mucked.

Bernard Lee Busted Set Over Set

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The PokerNews team arrived at the table just to catch the tail end of a hand between Bernard Lee and Jonas Mackoff. On a board reading {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, both players' hands were tabled and it was Bernard Lee with all of his chips in the middle and at risk.

Lee held {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a set of sevens but Mackoff showed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for a set of aces. Lee had around 400,000 chips in front of him and the dealer pushed them all toward Mackoff to stack up. Lee exited the tournament area with a disappointed look on his face after making a deep run.

Joseph Michael Doubles and Busts One

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

A player in early position moved all in for his last 138,000 and a player in middle position three-bet to 255,000. Joseph Michael was in the big blind and moved all in for 458,000. His opponent in middle position was in the tank and Michael said, "Just lay it down. You're twenty percent." Eventually, he called.

Michael tabled {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} first, while the middle-position player showed {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}, and the early-position player was busy taking a photo but eventually smiled and tabled {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the initial aggressor flopped an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the {6-Spades} and the river was the {9-Clubs}, sending the pot to Michael for the double-up plus the elimination.
