Marc Macdonnell
Marc Macdonnell

Joseph Couden managed to Eliminate Marc MacDonnell in a coin flip where they got their chips in the middle preflop. MacDonnell had {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and he had his last 105,000 in the middle. Couden was flipping with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} but he managed to catch an amazing flop.

The flop that the dealer spread out was {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades} and it was going to be tough for MacDonnell to win the hand. The dealer completed the board with the {9-Diamonds} turn and {10-Spades} river and MacDonnell was eliminated from the tournament.

He was kind enough to help the dealer ship his stack to Couden and he exited the tournament area.

Christopher Freeman raised from the hijack to 6,000 and he was called by Nick Schulman in the cutoff. Dan Zack called from the button and big blind Manig Loeser called as well.

Dan Zack put his last chips in the middle which was 43,500 and both Loeser and Freeman folded. Schulman called and they opened up.

Dan Zack: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Nick Schulman: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out with the {2-Clubs} turn and {6-Clubs} river and Zack was sent to the rail by Schulman.

Michael Soyza was eliminated moments ago when he couldn't win against pocket eights and Dietrich Fast went down only moments later with a pair of pocket eights.

Fast got his last 85,000 in the middle with pocket eights against {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop wasn't good for Fast and the {3-Hearts} turn and {a-Hearts} river didn't do anything for him.

Cada Eliminates Burns

Kahle Burns

The board was down {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and with 100,000 in the middle, Joe Cada bet 100,000 from the cutoff.

"Sorry guys, I'm going to need a minute," said Kahle Burns in the big blind.

Burns was sat with 95,000 behind and faced a decision for his tournament life.

Two minutes passed with Burns still in the tank, and he once again apologized to his tablemates as he pondered his decision. A minute later the clock was called on him, and with just seconds left to act before his hand was declared dead, Burns called.

Cada revealed {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}, and Burns mucked {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts} before he departed from Event #70.

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Nick Schulman opened the action with a raise from the cutoff and called after Richard Sheils moved all in for close to 260,000 from the big blind.

Nick Schulman: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Richard Sheils: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Board: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Sheils held with his better pocket pair to eliminate the newly crowned three-time bracelet winner Schulman.

The brothers from Birmingham, UK, have been battling at the same table for the past few levels, with both players seeing their stacks swing up and down.

With the final two hours of play approaching, they will both be looking to secure a place in Day 3 and a shot at the final table.

Sheils Doubles Up

Niveau 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Brandon Sheils
Brandon Sheils

Brandon Sheils, the younger half of the Sheils brothers, put 128,000 in the middle with only 1,000 behind. Fabiano Kovalski called from the button and both blinds got out of the way.

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Sheils took ten seconds to put his last chip in the middle which caused a couple of smiles across the table. He was quickly called by Kovalski and Sheils tabled his hand saying ''that is a really good flop for me'' while he showed {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Kovalski was behind with {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and the {4-Diamonds} was dealt on the river to award Sheils the double up.
