Anderson Gets Some Chips Back

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Day 1a of the Main Event was off to a bad start for Calvin Anderson, who just earned some chips back. It started with an open-raise by Anderson from under the gun and Michael Johnson three-bet to 1,600, which was called by two opponents including Anderson. On the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, only Anderson check-called a bet worth 1,300 by Johnson and they checked the {4-Clubs} turn.

Anderson then announced a bet of 5,000 on the {3-Clubs} river and used his T-25,000 chip he had left over. Johnson called and mucked when Anderson revealed the {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a full house.

A player in early position raised to 800. He was called by a player in middle position, Richard Geyer III in the cutoff, and both the blinds.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The action checked to Geyer who threw out a bet of 3,000. He was called by the players in the small blind, early position, and middle position.

The action was checked to Geyer again when the turn brought the {4-Hearts}. Geyer sized up his bet to 12,000 to only be called by the player in middle position.

The {3-Clubs} completed the board. Geyer bet a third time for 13,000 when it was checked to him. His opponent took just a few seconds before he folded.

Haim Gabay was spotted standing up and pulling out his phone to record before he tabled his hand and it was quickly apparent why as he tabled the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} on a board of {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a flopped royal flush.

He did not get a ton of value from it as his opponent folded on the river but nevertheless, Gabay excitedly recorded the uber rare poker hand and collected his chips.

"What a normal table this is. Royal flushes, set over sets, slow rolls, pirates (in reference to Scotter Clark's attire)! It's amazing!" said tablemate Gabriel Andrade as Gabay took down the pot with a smile.

Quoss Wins With Top Pair

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Eric Fields raised to 500 and Fabian Quoss called in the cutoff. David Schwartz raised to 1,500 and Fields reluctantly called, Quoss quickly tossed in a chip for the call as well. On the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Schwartz and he bet 2,100, forcing a fold from Fields and earning a check-raise to 6,500 from Quoss.

Schwartz called to then check behind the {a-Clubs} turn and he called Quoss' bet on the {6-Diamonds} river for 4,500. Quoss revealed {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the top pair and that won the pot.
