Nguyen Rivers A Set

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Qui Nguyen
Qui Nguyen

The 2016 Main Event champion Qui Nguyen was spotted in a hand with the board reading {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Marcelo Tadeu Aziz Junior bet 5,500 from the button and Qui Nguyen called from the hijack.

The river came the {10-Clubs} and Nguyen threw out a bet of 20,000 into a pot of about 22,000. Tadeu Aziz Junior thought for quite a while before announcing he was all in, Nguyen snap-called.

Tadeu Aziz Junior tabled {j-Spades}{10-Spades} and Nguyen turned over the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for the rivered set to take down the nice sized pot as well as leaving his opponent with a short stack.

Yueqi Zhu

Yueqi "Rich" Zhu took his seat in the Amazon room and will be looking for his eighth cash of the 2021 WSOP. Zhu won his sole WSOP title in the 2018 Mixed Omaha event and has also been the runner-up in WSOP bracelet events on four separate occasions.

The cutoff raised to 600 and the small blind called before Zhu three-bet to 2,200. The cutoff tanked briefly before folding and the small blind quickly sent his cards into the muck.

Zhu dragged the pot to get some early momentum on Day 1.
