Remitio Can't Get Cornell to Fold Aces

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In a three-bet pot, Tyler Cornell and Joshua Remitio were heads-up on a board reading {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Cornell checked from the small blind and Remitio splashed in a bet of 100,000 into a pot of around 300,000. Cornell called and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board.

Cornell checked again and Remitio shoved all in, putting Cornell to the test for his remaining 300,000 chips. After some thought, Cornell decided to call. Remitio showed {q-Spades}{9-Spades} for just a pair of nines while Cornell tabled {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} for a pair of aces.

Simao Shows a "Straight"

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Joao Simao raised it up from the hijack and picked up three callers along the way. The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and the action checked around to the {10-Hearts} on the turn.

The blinds checked again and Simao finally tossed in a bet of 57,000. The cutoff raised to 150,000 which got both of the blinds to fold but Simao called.

The {q-Spades} paired the board on the river and it also put three spades on the board. Simao announced all in, putting his opponent to the test for his remaining 400,000 chips. He quickly decided to fold and Simao was awarded the pot.

"Straight," Simao announced much to nobody's surprise. He flashed the {9-Diamonds} which was the bottom end of the straight which got some laughs from the table.

Gerhart Taken Out

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Kevin Gerhart (in another event)
Kevin Gerhart (in another event)

The flop read {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} with three players contesting the hand. Christoph Strehl made a chunky bet of 150,000 into a pot of less than that. Jay Romano folded from the small blind and Kevin Gerhart moved all in from the big blind, Strehl snap called.

Kevin Gerhart: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Chrsitoph Strehl: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

It was two-pair vs top-pair as Gerhart would need to hit his gutter. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and the river came the {9-Hearts} to superfluously fill up Strehl and eliminate the two-time 2021 WSOP bracelet winner.

Cohen Turns Ace to Crack Sethi's Cowboys

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Vidur Sethi in early position and Gerald "Bill" Cohen in middle position got their stacks in preflop.

Vidur Sethi: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Gerald "Bill" Cohen: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Both players had strong hands, but it was Cohen looking to improve. The flop came {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and the {a-Hearts} spiked the turn to put Cohen ahead. The case king didn't come as the {8-Diamonds} completed the board. As it turned out, both players had a stack of exactly 160,000 chips so Sethi was sent to the rail.

Shai Arbel raised from the cutoff and then called the shove by Ross Feldman in the big blind for around 150,000.

Ross Feldman: {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Shai Arbel: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Feldman was sent to the rail.

"Come on, you were so patient?!" Arbel exclaimed and Feldman replied "I was getting short" before heading to the payout desk.

Spragg Calls Kanchi Down

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Marle Spragg was heads-up from the hijack against Ranganath Kanchi in the big blind on a {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} board.

Kanchi bet 50,000 and Spragg called.

The {8-Diamonds} completed the board and Ranganath Kanchi fired again — this time for 105,000. Spragg tossed in a call and Kanchi tabled {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Spragg revealed {j-Spades}{7-Spades} for jacks and eights, which was enough to drag the pot.
