Dario Sammartino Eliminated in 43rd Place ($176,399)

Niveau 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammartino open-shoved from early position with his short stack, and action folded all the way around to the Karen Sarkisyan in the big blind, who called.

Sarkisyan: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Sammartino: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, keeping Sammartino way in the lead.

"Jack, jack!" Sammartino's rail cheered. Sammartino shushed them and ushered them quiet with a flat palm.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, and the look on Sammartino's face went from calm and at ease to pained and restless as the lead had been snatched away from him. He needed a jack or a queen to survive, but the river was the {7-Spades}, and that was it for him. Sammartino wished everyone at the table luck and made his exit from the tournament.

Blumstein Catches Stewart Bluffing

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

With seven seconds left in the level, the dealer started another shuffle, so one final hand was to be played before dinner.

Scott Blumstein opened the hijack to 250,000, and Scott Stewart three-bet to 825,000. The big blind folded, and Blumstein called.

Stewart bet 760,000 on the {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, and Blumstein called. The {9-Hearts} hit the turn, and Stewart wasn't backing down; he bet 1,660,000. Again, Blumstein called. The {A-Clubs} completed the board, and Stewart bet 2,600,000. Blumstein called for the fourth time.

"You got it," Stewart said as he showed {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Blumstein tabled {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and raked in the pot while the rest of the players were already long gone for dinner.

Hesp: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Lamb: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Justas Vaiciulionis Chips Up

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Justas Vaiciulionis
Justas Vaiciulionis

Justas Vaiciulionis was under the gun and raised to 250,000. Robin Hegele was on the button and called, as did Matt Bond in the big blind.

The flop was {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and action checked to Hegele, who bet 215,000. Bond folded, and Vaiciulionis called. The turn was the {q-Clubs}, and both players checked. The river was the {2-Clubs}, and Vaiciulionis checked again. Hegele sized out a bet of 465,000, and Vaiciulionis called rather quickly.

Hegele's cards went directly into the muck, and Vaiciulionis took it down without having to show.

David Guay
David Guay

On a side feature table, David Guay completed in the small blind, and Damian Salas made it 430,000 in the big blind. Guay called.

The flop was {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Guay check-called a bet from Salas, and the turn was the {3-Diamonds}. Guay checked, Salas bet 450,000, and Guay called. On the {J-Clubs} river, Guay checked once again, and Salas thought for a long while. Finally, someone at the table called the clock, and before the floorperson made it over, Salas put out a bet of 1,215,000. Guay quickly called, and the hands were revealed.

Salas: {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Guay: {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Salas had tens and threes on the turn, but Guay rivered a better two pair with tens and jacks to take the pot.
