Reard double contre Silver

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

Alexandre Reard opened to 265,000 in middle position and got action from Max Silver on his immediate left. Reard slowed down with a check on the {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop. Silver bet 240,000 and Reard called. The French player check-called 660,000 on the {3-Clubs} turn and the river brought an {8-Diamonds}. Reard checked again and Silver announced all in. That effectively put Reard to the test for 2,050,000, and he snap-called.

Silver: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Reard: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Reard celebrated with his rail, and Silver joked he would need to whip out his signature shoving app for his own use now.

Guay Fires Three Bullets, but Salas Dodges the Third

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

There was a limped pot preflop between Marcel Luske under the gun, David Guay in the small blind, and Damian Salas in the big blind.

The flop came down {6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}, and Guay led out with a bet of 265,000. Salas called, and Luske folded. The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Guay bet again, this time firing 530,000. Salas called once more. On the {A-Clubs} river, Guay led out one more time, betting 845,000. Salas thought for about a minute and a half, then folded his hand.

Guay took in the pot, while Salas fell back to around six million chips.

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Christian Pham raised to 275,000 from the hijack, and Benjamin Pollak three-bet to 785,000 from the cutoff. Pham asked for a count and called.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}, and Pham checked. Pollak bet 575,000, and Pham quickly called. The turn was the {7-Hearts}. Pham checked again, and Pollak paused for a full minute before betting 675,000. Pham looked like he was in agony over the decision but eventually released his hand.

Pollak now has over 10 million in chips.

Reard and Lutes Chop It Up

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Scott Stewart raised to 240,000 and Alexandre Reard called in the cutoff, as did Travis Lutes in the big blind. The flop came {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Lutes checked. Stewart bet 360,000 and Reard raised to 800,000 before Lutes check-raised all in. Stewart quickly got out of the way while Reard, who had 1,480,000 behind, asked for the all-in amount of Lutes.

The shove of Lutes was deemed to be for 3,295,000 in total, which had Reard covered, and the Frenchman called all in.

Reard: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Lutes: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

"They got the same hand, chop it up," the announcement came, and the {4-Diamonds} turn and {7-Hearts} river were just a formality.

Jae Hwang Eliminated in 48th Place ($145,733)

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Jae Hwang
Jae Hwang

The action was folded to Benjamin Pollak on the button who raised to 280,000. Jae Hwang was in the small blind and moved all-in for his remaining 1,705,000. Pollak called and the cards were on their backs.

Pollak: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Hwang: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Hwang was still out front. The turn was the {a-Diamonds} giving both players two pair but Hwang had the better kicker.

"King," Pollak cheered for, hoping to at least get a chop out of the hand. But the dealer burned and turned the {10-Spades}, hitting Pollak's kicker and sending him the pot. Hwang was ousted by the river card and his Main Event journey came to an end.

Mackoff Loses Some; Silver Wins Some

Niveau 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

For the second hand in a row, Jonas Mackoff raised to 260,000. In the first hand he won a small pot without any action and the second hand saw a call by Michael Sklenicka in the small blind and Scott Stewart in the big blind. The flop of {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} was checked to Stewart and he bet 525,000, which only Mackoff called.

Both players checked the {2-Hearts} turn and the {A-Hearts} river and Stewart showed {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush to win the pot.

Soon after, Daniel Turner raised to 250,000 from the hijack and Max Silver defended the big blind. A continuation bet on the flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} was followed by two checks on the {5-Spades} turn and Silver then bet the {10-Clubs} river for 180,000. Turner reluctantly called and mucked when Silver turned over {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.
