Alexander Greenblatt Eliminated in 65th Place ($101,444)

Niveau 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Alexander Greenblatt
Alexander Greenblatt

Alexander Greenblatt moved all in for 1,890,000 from middle position and action folded to David Guay on the button. He thought for a moment and then called. Marcel Luske was in the big blind and asked for a count but eventually folded.

Greenblatt tabled {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and was disappointed to see that Guay held {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

"One time," smiled Greenblatt, on his feet.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Greenblatt still needed one of the remaining eights in the deck to improve. The turn was the {k-Spades} and the river was the {j-Hearts}, sending Greenblatt to the rail in 65th place for $101,444.

After Greenblatt left the table, Jake Bazeley looked at Luske and asked, "Did you take that long with king-deuce, Marcel?" Luske shook his head and Bazeley continued, "Oh, so you just take that long all the time. I think you should try to play as quick as possible in this tournament."

The Chips are Flying

Niveau 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Hand #1: A three-bet to 625,000 was in front of Richard Gryko and Artan Dedusha moved all in out of the big blind for 2,890,000 in total. The initial raiser had already folded and Gryko did so as well after some consideration.

Hand #2: Kfir Nahum shoved from under the gun and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #3: Wei Zhou raised to 250,000 from the cutoff and Dedusha called from the button. On the {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop, Zhou continued for 250,000 and Dedusha called before Zhou checked the {Q-Spades} turn. Dedusha bet 350,000 and Zhou's immediate check-raise to 700,000 did the trick to force a fold from Dedusha.

Gryko took down a hand right after to gain back the lost chips against Dedusha, while the Brit was sent back to where he was on the all-in move.

Lutes Cold Four-Bet Ships

Niveau 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Scott Stewart opened to 200,000 and Robert Schulz made it 630,000 in the cutoff. Travis Lutes shoved all in from the small blind after about 30 seconds of thought. It looked to be in the neighborhood of 4.1 million, and it was enough to get both Stewart and Schulz to muck their cards.

Pisane and Piccioli Develop a Rivalry

Niveau 28 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante

Right after the first break, Randy Pisane and Bryan Piccioli got involved in back-to-back hands with Pisane coming out on top both times. In one of the hands, Piccioli flopped a straight-flush draw with {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} on a {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board against Pisane's {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Luckily for Piccioli, he didn't lose that many chips and was still surviving on a healthy stack.

In a recent hand, Pisane raised to 230,000 from the cutoff and Piccioli called from the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Piccioli check-called a bet of 325,000 from Pisane.

Both players checked the {q-Diamonds} on the turn and the {k-Clubs} landed on the river. Piccioli led out for 710,000 and Pisane mucked his hand.

Four players put in 225,000 preflop and saw a flop of {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Wesley Pantling checked in the big blind, the player under the gun checked, and Michael Krasienko bet 425,000. The next player, in late position, folded. Pantling called and the remaining player folded.

They were heads up to the {9-Spades} turn and they both checked. On the {9-Hearts} river, Pantling checked and Krasienko bet 750,000. Pantling thought it over for a little while and folded a jack face up.
